flagg street garden
Two new steel trellises, a concrete terrace and bench and large sliding glass doors create modern and spacious outdoor living and dining spaces around a typical Victorian house. The driveway is recaptured for dinner parties and acts as a growing surface for grapes and wisteria. The back terrace has a smaller dining area for daily use and creates an inviting outdoor room to be enjoyed year-round. The concrete and steel are intentionally left raw and industrial wire mesh is used as lattice for additional growing space. Softer elements like the wood screens and fabric panels and curtains catch the light and interact with the wind and vegetation to mark the seasons.
